Sight Reading Introductory Exercise 7

Chords

This simple exercise uses basic open chords. You’ll need to play an open F major chord. Play the chords first.

Melody

Make note of the B♭ that shows up on measure 24 and again on measure 27. To find the note, play a normal “B” note, and then lower it by one half stepThe smallest possible step, consisting of a minor second. For instance, fret I and fret II are separated by a half step..

Position

This should be read in Position I or Position V. (In the open position or at the Vth fret.) It is recommended to read it in both positions.
