Iron Age Ducat Brass Picks

DSC06059-ironage-brass.jpg

Iron Age guitar picks are almost in the category of, "if you only needed one pick", they're all overbuilt and quite sturdy.

They tend to sit inside of a genre of picks that are built a bit more heavily, often sought out by shredders of all types looking for a little bit more speed. Their mass ensures stiffness, and their beveled point helps you pick at higher speeds.

The Ducat Brass pick is made of solid brass. Unlike most metal picks, it has a very carefully polished bevel tip. This greatly reduces possible string friction and potential wear on the string from using a metal pick. It's got significant heft to it and it would likely never break, crack or chip even after a lifetime of use, making it a very cool heirloom piece or gift. But you still have to be careful not to lose it!

Our Take:
✓ Pros
    ✗ Cons

      Material: Brass (Man-made)

Brass, like any metal, is difficult to use for making guitar picks. It can sometimes produce harsh tones and even accelerate wear on the strings.
