Honey Picks Casein

Honey Picks is a boutique pick company run by brothers Rick and Andrew Calhoun. Their picks are extremely high quality and very well-designed. Their product line is carefully thought out, and they offer enough shapes and gauges for just about anyone.

If you're curious about different pick types and materials, Honey Picks is probably the single best place to learn more. That's because you can buy multiple picks of the same exact shape, thickness and bevel, but made from entirely different materials. You can test them for yourself and see what you think.

The Honey Picks casein pick is relatively affordable and overall very nice. It has that warm casein "click" that players love about the material.

Material: Casein (Natural)

Casein's fans believe that it is the closest thing to natural tortoiseshell. This bioplastic is made out of milk proteins and bonded together with formaldehyde. It's actually a relatively old technology; the boutique picks that are made with it are expensive primarily because the material is not as easy to work with as other plastics.
