Dunlop Tortex Picks

Guitar Pick

If you're just starting out to learn guitar, your first pack of picks should be a Dunlop Tortex variety pack. The picks come in gauges .50mm to 1.14mm, and each of these is color-coded. The thinner picks are primarily for strumming.

For your primary pick, it's a good idea to start at around 1mm and go down or up a gauge to find what works for you.

On this website, we discuss many different unusual, exotic and expensive picks, not because it's necessary, but because it's interesting. Make no mistake about it: these picks are perfectly good for the job.
