Apollo Picks

We tested multiple casein picks and Apollo picks earned very high marks for their quality. They also tend to be closer in thickness to a standard pick (a little over 1mm) whereas other casein picks run very thick. This is appealing to many players, and at these thin gauges, there is still a bit of flexibility left in the guitar pick.

Casein picks are often regarded as being "true" to the tortoise tone. If you're curious about casein, try some Apollo picks–they live up to the highest possible quality standard.

Material: Casein (Natural)

Casein's fans believe that it is the closest thing to natural tortoiseshell. This bioplastic is made out of milk proteins and bonded together with formaldehyde. It's actually a relatively old technology; the boutique picks that are made with it are expensive primarily because the material is not as easy to work with as other plastics.
